The Canal is a background object in CityVille. It's a player-made river that can be crossed by the Drawbridge to the lakefront. It was released to some players starting August 30, 2012. The canal is already pre-placed and can't be moved. Clicking anywhere on the Canal will bring up its Build Menu.
110 Bulldozers must be collected to dig the Canal. After that you must expand up to the Drawbridge and complete it. Completion of both allows access to the Lakefront Expansion area.
