The Hot Air Balloons are upgradable housing items in CityVille. They require the goal Pick A Partner!
This series of goals requires you to build 4 Hot Air Balloons as large as you can. Each can be upgraded. The higher the level, the better looking the Balloon and the more prizes you win at the end of the timer. Also more Population will fit inside. Each one is allowed up to 7 days to complete. Click on a Balloon in the city to show its upgrade menu.
After 7 days, or if you complete the Balloon to Level 6, you have to measure it. This tells you how big it is, which determines the prizes and the Balloon's maximum population.
Helium can be found by collecting from Balloon Crops and Balloon Residences. Goggles of various colors can be requested from neighbors.
To add Helium to a Balloon you need to click on the button showing a small Helium Bottle with a '1' next to it. Each click adds one tank of helium to that balloon. It only helps the balloon you currently have the menu opened to.
Inviting a Balloon Partner will speed things up and make it more likely you'll each get better rewards at the end of the time limit. As the goals continue you will need 5 of them. Zynga.com currently may not show a listing of your potential Partners. If so, switch to playing on Face Book to send invitations.
Each invitation you accept from neighbors will add another balloon to your city. It's unknown if you get to keep a copy of their Balloon, or just share the prizes.
Prizes include: Coins, Goods, Zoning Permits and the Founder's Residence. Only the highest level Balloons have a shot at items like that last one. See individual balloons for exact details.
The Hot Air Balloons are the Labrador Balloon, T-Rex Balloon, Panda Balloon and Unicorn Balloon. (They must be purchased after the first one.)
HINTs: Because goggles need to go to a specific balloon, and they don't go into inventory, you can't actually use any collected from the wall. Be sure to request Goggles every 4 hours.
Suggestion with Example: Don't make requests for goggles on two different Labradors at the same time. There aren't enough hours in a week to complete both. You can work on a T-Rex and a Labrador at the same time if you have a good Helium supply.
