The Tropical Mansion Mystery Animal is an item needed to complete the collection of animals for the Tropical Mansion. Requests may be made once every 4 hours and will only give you one Mystery Animal. You can get more any time you want by clicking the tree symbol above the Tropical Mansion and paying 
3 Energy. Mystery boxes are listed under Decorations in your inventory.
You must place the Mystery Animal on the map and click on it. This will bring up a menu that shows you what you need to complete it. Each one requires 4 of each Sun Hats and Sand Buckets. Sun Hats come from requests. Sand Buckets must be collected from any of the Tropical Mansion Buildings.
Once you have the 8 needed items you can grow the Mystery Animal. The odds of you receiving one of the 3 rarer types are slightly improved if you level up the Tropical Mansion. Each animal is a usable decoration.
Common Types can be bought for 
5 Cash each.
They are the Chimpanzee, Gorillas, and Orangutans.
Uncommon Types can be bought for 10 Cash each.
They are the Toucans, Parrot, and Colobus Monkey.
Rare Types can be bought for 30 Cash each.
They are the Emerald Boa, Ring-tailed Lemur, and Mandrill.
The final reward for collecting all 9 is the Sand Kingdom.
